Flower arrangement may be defined as the art of organizing and grouping together plant materials to achieve harmony of form, color, and texture. They add cheer, beauty, life and happiness to the ambience.

In hotels, flowers are used extensively. Flower arrangements have an ability to introduce a personal touch in an otherwise staid and impersonal hotel room or lobby. Guests appreciate flowers for the freshness they bring to the surroundings.

This workshop helps Thakur Institute of Hotel Management (TIHM) students to be in touch with the modern floral trends followed in hotels and also to enhance their knowledge in the Housekeeping department with an intention to grow their career in specific interested departments.

Cultural Fest

Cultural fests give a lot of social benefits the biggest being inter-college interaction. Students get a chance to medley with people from different walks of life. Organizing and participating in fest activities is not a child's play; it needs arduous efforts and stern dedication. Fests provide a platform for students to showcase one's unique talents and are important in the holistic development of the personality of the students, providing a break from the monotonous routine of evaluation and academics.

Christmas Celebration

On the occasion of Christmas Thakur Institute of Hotel Management had Organized a Christmas Feast for Students. It was a well-designed, well planned event, students were divided into groups of their respective departments, like Housekeeping, Front office, Food Production, Food & Beverage. Students did all the decorations from Santa’s sleigh to Christmas tree and restaurant decorations too, their creative skills were highly appreciated & was enhanced. Culinary students took charge of Kitchen with a complete Festive meal, which is traditionally served during Occasion of Christmas.

All this process helps students to gain confidence and Expose them to the Hoteling culture.

Fruit carving

Fruit carving workshop by Guest Lecturer Chef. Feroz Khan was organized by Thakur Institute of Hotel Management. This workshop was basically a new skill introduction to students which they can induce in their learning process. Mr.Khan focuses on the basics of carving, and teaches the small garnishes to students which increase our student’s interest more in such skill.

The main purpose of this workshop is to give one more horizon to students as Fruit carving is a Specialized skill.

This can help students to understand Entrepreneurship, as skills like this can increase their valuation on their Resume and of course they can stand out of the crowd for knowing one extra skill.

Mixology & Bartending Workshop

Drinks and Meal are a very important part of the Food & Beverage department. Bartending is an extended arm of the Food & Beverage industry, organized with DrinQ Academy, Thakur Institute of Hotel Management had conducted an effective workshop for students wanting to take Bartending as their career.

The Guest Lecturer Mr. Bhabuji Jinaga, astonished all by his Knowledge, helps students to take more interest in modern beverage systems and novel recipes. Different Tricks and tips were learned by upcoming Hoteliers of TIHM.

They got a brief idea about the use of Molecular Gastronomy in Liquor science and with different cultures; their ethics related to Hospitality. They were also aware about enormous possibilities & opportunities for them as a Bartender & even as teacher & Entrepreneur.

Christmas Goodies to Hotel HR

During the Christmas period, sharing festivities is a part of ritual which is a household culture of sharing Happiness & Hope; Best wishes to our loved ones. Continuing with the same gesture we at Thakur Institute of Hotel Management believe in sharing our best wishes with our bakery made Plum Cake to our extended family, those are Hotelier Mentors.

Prior to Christmas we had sent Plum Cake to Hotels like, Oberoi Hotel-Nariman Point, J.W.Marriott - Sahar, Novotel Mumbai, Sun & Sand hotel -Juhu, The Westin Mumbai, Holiday inn Hotel, IBIS Hotel with our First year students, who had best of their experience by going personally & wishing the Human resource & Training team the best wishes. This ritual of sharing festive goodies with each other definitely enhances our relationship,plus students are beneficiaries where they can upgrade their Communication skills, their personality and finally one of the most important parts is that they can physically visit the respective Hotel property and can see how different departments work.

Rituals & Customs like this are salient for a healthy one on one Industry Institute relationship between Hotels & Colleges like us which develops trust, goodwill & responsibility towards each other.
